Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will study development prospects of the domestic fruit industry during his working trip to Molodechno District, BelTA has learned.

The president is visiting the SPARTAN-AGRO private farm that grows apples and other agricultural products. The orchard in the farm began to bear fruit in 2001 (1,371 tonnes were harvested in 2023), which is sold to retail chains.

From 2009 to 2023, the farm laid out an orchard of autumn and winter varieties with a nursery and a mother plant on an area of 77 hectares. Drip irrigation was installed on all areas under the intensive garden.

By 2028, the garden's yield will reach at least 3,000 tonnes per year. All work is carried out with the scientific and technical assistance of the Institute of Fruit Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The head of the farm is Igor Abramchik. Aleksandr Lukashenko already met him in April this year during the national clean-up day.

“A farmer, a hard worker. By the way, [he has] no agricultural education,” the head of state said introducing him to journalists.
