On December 11, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met with Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"I always regard your visit to Belarus as very important. Our meeting and your visit to me are not just a courtesy visit, as diplomats say. Although there is some element of that. We have things to talk about and issues to discuss. We share the same line of thought and position. We have never had any disagreements about the internal or external factors affecting Russia and Belarus. Therefore, it is very important to me that you come to see me for a few minutes so that we can check our watches. I emphasize that this is very important to me. You are not only my friend, but also the friend of our Belarusian people," the President said.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that he was closely following Alexander Bastrykin's work as much as possible. "I am very pleased that in these difficult times, you have somehow managed to maintain your system and structure and work for the benefit of not only Russia, but also our union, which we are striving to build," he said.

In turn, Alexander Bastrykin thanked for the opportunity to meet. "I would like to inform you that I have just attended a serious international conference dedicated to the genocide of the Soviet people, where I gave a speech," he said.

After the meeting, the President plans to hold a working meeting with Bastrykin and his colleagues from the Investigative Committee of Belarus. "We will review the results of our joint work in 2025 and outline the prospects for 2026 to achieve results in our main strategic areas of cooperation," said the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
