Agriculture is again on the agenda of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s working schedule. The head of state is set to visit the agricultural enterprise Shipyany-ASK in Smolevichi District, Minsk Oblast on 21 February, BelTA has learned.

The event will be organized in the format of a visiting seminar. Attending it will be the president’s authorized representatives in various regions, presidential aides in the regions, heads of scientific and practical centers of the National Academy of Sciences on farming and livestock breeding.

During the tour of the Alesino dairy complex and the company's machine and tractor fleet, the participants of the seminar are set to discuss practical aspects of keeping cattle during the winter stall-feeding period, preparation of the main types of agricultural machinery for spring field work, new crop varieties and cultivation regulations.

Aleksandr Lukashenko repeatedly drew attention to the importance of ensuring the safety of livestock, especially during the winter stall-feeding period. The head of state emphasized it many times during both major national meetings and working trips to the regions. A solid fodder base and a full ration are the main components of profitable production. To fulfill this task it is necessary to use the feeding regulations for all kinds of animals developed by scientists together with the Agriculture Ministry. “Scientists have developed about 100 technological regulations and recommendations. Make use of them,” the head of state said at the meeting on rural development and increasing the efficiency of the agricultural industry in April 2024.

The head of state demanded to ensure unconditional observance of technological and labor discipline at every workplace, from the cattle breeder to the head of the farm, high-quality work of veterinary and zootechnical services.

Aleksandr Lukashenko always monitors the readiness of machinery for the new agricultural season. This issue is especially important during the harvesting season, but it is no less important to lay the foundation for the future crop in spring. This means machinery should be properly maintained during the winter period. On the president’s instructions, a number of measures in the area have been implemented to ensure proper operation of district agricultural services. During his working trip to Orsha District last August, Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the machinery yard of OAO Agrokombinat Yubileiny. The comfortable conditions created there for workers can be served as a model for other farms.

The agricultural enterprise Shipyany-ASK was founded by the Scientific and Practical Center on Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in 2007. The main activities of the enterprise include milk production, cattle growing, grain, leguminous crops and rapeseed cultivation, seed production, and the development of fodder base for cattle breeding.

In 2011 the enterprise launched the production of a variety of elite seeds.

The Alesino commercial dairy farm was commissioned in 2014. Its construction cost Br18 million. The farm includes two 400-head cowsheds, a maternity barn with a dry period area, a dairy milking block, and an administration building. There is also an area to grow calves and young stock.

The farm features an advanced system of animal housing, a special layout of premises and intensive resource-saving science-intensive technologies.
