Lukashenko sends People’s Unity Day greetings to Belarusians

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended People’s Unity Day greetings to his compatriots, noting that the holiday symbolizes national dignity and historical justice, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

“17 September 1939 is the day of the reunification of the Belarusian people. It is the day of the return of our native land, which was taken against our will for a long 18 years. This is a dramatic yet heroic chapter in our history: by turning this page, the nation united and grew stronger. Today, we celebrate a holiday that symbolizes national dignity and historical justice. For centuries, these values have brought us closer together and made us stronger,” the message reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that love for the native land, reverence for one’s roots, and a sense of pride in the nation and its centuries-long achievements form the foundation of peace and harmony in Belarus. “The purpose and meaning of everyone’s life is to preserve our shared home to ensure a happy future for our children and grandchildren,” the president noted.
The head of state wished his compatriots good health, happiness, and prosperity.
