Belarus and Brazil must intensify their relations, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Brazil’s Ambassador to Belarus Bernard Klingl, BelTA has learned.

“I think we should step up efforts to build our relations and not overcomplicate things. We need to keep it simple. The economy is the foundation. So, we need to identify areas of economic cooperation that are of interest to Brazil and, conversely, to Belarus. This is achievable,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that there was a large number of issues to discuss. “Mutually beneficial issues, which I have raised before. But some of them have not been resolved. Since they are mutually beneficial (as you can see, time is changing very rapidly), we need to approach these issues seriously and decide whether we will move in this direction,” he said.

The head of state also emphasized that experts in both Belarus and Brazil share identical views on world affairs. “This will help and is already helping to forge more effective relations between our countries,” the president stated.
