President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Sergey Glazyev on February 16, the press service of the head of state reports.

A meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will be held on February 26, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev.

"It is known that the meeting will be held on the 26th, in agreement with the President of Russia. The last time we discussed this issue, it was the main issue of our telephone conversation. Although there's a lot of conspiracy theory here after this conversation. Moreover, this issue coincided with the Board of Peace that Donald Trump will be holding in Washington, and my invitation to this Board of Peace. Therefore, all our negotiations and conversations with President Putin have overshadowed this issue. Nevertheless, the main issue that we discussed was a meeting of the supreme body of our Union State and our further contacts with the President of Russia and negotiations on issues related to Belarus and Russia," the Head of State said.

"On the eve of the Supreme State Council, we have a lot of problems that we need to discuss, perhaps find common ground, if we can. It seems to me that there are no such issues where we cannot correlate our positions and reach a common decision," the Belarusian leader noted.

"We are serious about working with Russia as much as Russia is capable of doing so. You understand more than anyone that we are very far apart on certain issues, including economy. Well, fortunately, in politics, diplomacy, life forced us to be together in the military-industrial complex, in the defense space. Although I always suggested not to lose sight of this issue. And there were times when the Russian leadership and the military considered: "Well, what about Belarus, we can manage without Belarus." Time has shown that we have few friends. And we can't do without each other. And thank God that this time has put us all in our place," Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

"Today I received a review: in Russia, some say that someone is trying to separate Belarus from Russia. I won't even comment on it. I can only say one thing: there is no force capable of separating Belarus from Russia and Russia from Belarus today. Circumstances have developed in such a way that they have bound us together, probably for many, many decades and centuries. Although, in general, there is nothing to blame us - Belarus - we have always been focused on Russia. There's a lot of us there, if not everything. Our resources are there, and our market is there, as far as the economy is concerned. We have complete unity in this regard. Yes, and politically (from a point of view. - Approx.), - said the President. - The attempt to build a single union space is also based on our centuries-old ties. What can we say about some forces that seek to separate Belarus from Russia?"

Alexander Lukashenko mentioned the negotiations between Belarus and the United States. "We manage to solve our problems in these negotiations. But in no case are we solving these problems at the expense of our brotherly and native Russia. I do not know what kind of presidents there will be in Belarus, but I am more and more inclined to believe that there will be people like Lukashenko. They will not leave Russia," he said. "If someone is hoping that someone will come here (these are our "quiet little things" and others), our presidents are here in Belarus."

The President stressed that only at the first meeting with the American delegation, on his initiative, the issue of Russia was raised. "I touched it. And I immediately asked the Americans not to talk about this topic. That's exactly what he said.: We have decided with Russia for a long time, everyone knows about it, and we will act together, and do not try to drive a wedge between us and somehow tear us apart. To which the Americans replied: "We didn't even have such a topic in the negotiations, we perfectly understand what Russia is for Belarus and Belarus for Russia." Comma-separated - China."

"That's why we have a clear relationship with Russia. The main thing is that Russia supports Belarus at the right moment and, God forbid, does not turn away from Belarus. And to tear us away from Russia... listen, it's just the two of us. Together with Putin, Belarus and Russia," the President noted.

In this context, Alexander Lukashenko mentioned a number of Central Asian republics, whose leaders intend to participate in the first meeting within the framework of the Board of Peace initiated by Donald Trump. "The Lord is with them. These are sovereign, independent states. Both Putin and I recognize this, and they have the right to determine their policies. As for Russia, I am absolutely convinced that these states will not go anywhere - from us, from Russia. We can see that. And thank God. The economy and life will decide everything," the Head of State said. - They see China not far from them. Naturally, China is nearby, and the Chinese are helping. But the Chinese will never go against Russia, contrary to Russia's interests. I have known the Chinese leadership and Xi Jinping well for more than 20 years. He is a calm (person. - Ed.), good man. And the Chinese, they're very careful people."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that in the West at one time, including the United States, they closed the door to Belarus and "didn't even offer to climb through the window." "The Chinese and Russians have always kept their doors open. What did we do wrong? Did we do something against America? No. Everything is clear. Here is our position: Russia and China are vital states for the existence of Belarus," the Belarusian leader stressed.

"You understand that perfectly well. Therefore, all sorts of arguments even Masha Zakharova (official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. - Note). Or the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that they were advising and recommending something to us in a friendly way. Listen, I've been President for over 30 years. We've known each other for a long time. Listen, I've seen different presidents. Someone thought they had seen five American presidents. I've seen different situations. And it's impossible to circle me out of the blue or push me aside somewhere," Alexander Lukashenko noted. - I have a lot of experience in this regard. I'm telling many, many Russians, and if you join in, we can advise many on how to behave towards this rabid West, of which the United States of America is a major part."

As for the agenda of the upcoming the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia meeting, the President noted that he had questions, but noted the positive fact: "It's good that you finally, unlike the previous apparatchiks, proposed seven acceptable questions. Well, listen, well, who will discuss 27 questions?"

"Everything has been agreed upon, Alexander Grigorievich," said Sergey Glazyev.

The Secretary of State noted that the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia proposed to discuss the Main areas of implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State of Belarus and Russia for 2024-2026: "About half of all activities in these main areas have been completed. I am sure that the remaining half will be completed," he said. "And the main issue that we must now determine together is the development of new main directions for 2027-2029."
