Preparations for the next meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State were discussed at the meeting of Belarusian President and Chairman of the Supreme State Council  Aleksandr Lukashenko with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, BelTA has learned.

“We already have a tentative agenda for the meeting of the Supreme State Council (the highest body of our Union State). Anyone is welcome to make proposals and changes to it up to the point when it is submitted for consideration and approval, including at the meeting of the Supreme State Council. The priority issue is the implementation of the Union State programs. We have always said that we are doing a good job here. The conversation will be serious and principled,” the head of state remarked.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also said that there are plans to hold one-on-one talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the eve of the Supreme State Council meeting. “We will discuss fundamental issues. If there are any additions to the proposed agenda, we will make such proposals right at the meeting of the Supreme State Council,” the Belarusian leader said.

He asked Dmitry Mezentsev to report on the state of readiness of the Standing Committee of the Union State to hold the event: “How will we conduct it, what are the peculiarities? Maybe we need to take some decisions, are there any difficulties, issues? How is the situation here?”
