The agreement between Belarus and Russia on security guarantees in the Union State makes a significant contribution to the Eurasian security architecture. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his presentation to the State Duma on Russia's foreign policy priorities, BelTA reports.

"The security agreement with Belarus, which has entered into force, is making a significant contribution to the creation of a Eurasian architecture," said Sergey Lavrov.

He noted that strategic partnerships and alliances with the CIS and CSTO states contribute to strengthening security and maintaining regional stability. "We will work to improve these relations. Russia's chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organization this year provides a good opportunity," the Russian Foreign Minister stated.

Sergey Lavrov recalled that the priorities of Russia's chairmanship include deepening foreign policy coordination among CSTO member states, promoting joint initiatives, and expanding the organizations' contacts with international partners.
