This product was initially tested in the laboratory, where it showed excellent results. On a biocide-treated filter, the COVID-19 virus dies within one minute. On an untreated filter it remains pathogenic within one hour. High efficacy of the biocide has also been demonstrated in experiments on fungus and other pathogens
Further tests were carried out in train carriages where ventilation and air conditioning systems were fitted with biocide filters. After 3 months, the filters were removed and tested in the laboratory. It turned out that even after a long period of time, the product does not lose its effectiveness, and the pathogens that have fallen to the surface are killed.
This invention is of particular importance as it will help to reduce the circulation of coronavirus in public spaces. A clear advantage is that it does not require any modification to existing air exchange systems, simply changing the filters. This can be done quickly and without major financial outlay. The result is a reduction in the number of airborne micro-organisms that cause human illnesses.
