Russia’s Ufa will play host to the 17th edition of the CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals on 17-19 September. It will bring together about 200 representatives of the CIS countries, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.

"The theme of the forum is The Commonwealth of Independent States: Common Values and Diversity of Cultures. It will discuss the cooperation plans taking into account the modern realities and the priority areas and forms of work. During the plenary sessions and panel discussions, scholars, educators and artists will discuss various aspects of professional interaction: new formats of cooperation in education, volunteering as a resource for the development of society, integration processes in intercultural dialogue," the press service said.

The forum will also feature meetings of the heads of CIS humanitarian associations (filmmakers, heads of arts universities, specialists in inclusive projects). A separate meeting will be devoted to the preparations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Traditionally, the forum is timed to coincide with a meeting of representatives of the CIS governing bodies of humanitarian cooperation: the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Board of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
The forum will culminate in a ceremony to honor the winner of the CIS interstate prize "Stars of the Commonwealth" which celebrates the outstanding achievements in art, science and education. Winners of the CIS Youth Awards "Commonwealth of Debuts" will be celebrated too.
