“In the current international realities, when hybrid attacks on Belarus and Russia continue, it is obvious that we have to provide for common security of the Union State. One of its components is migration security,” Valery Mitskevich said. “The need to improve legislation to regulate migration remains relevant primarily due to the tense political situation near our borders. In this regard, the issues of migration policy are among the most important and frequently discussed ones, and the subject of today's parliamentary hearings is important and relevant.”
The events of recent years have shown that we need to be prepared for various difficult situations, including migration crises, the deputy speaker stressed. “It is necessary to have well-established algorithms of action to prevent their occurrence, as well as to ensure their effective resolution,” he said.
Attending the event are MPs of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, deputies of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representatives of the CSTO PA and CIS IPA, heads of migration services, leading experts, representatives of the scientific community of Belarus and Russia.
