The power and strength of the state are determined by people - by their work, unity and devotion to the native land, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the Belarusians on the occasion of Independence Day during the flower ceremony on Victory Square in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

"We are building our independent state together. We are proud of our history and cherish our heroic past. Belarus is a peace-loving state. We stand for the dialogue between the countries and peoples, for mutually beneficial cooperation on an equal basis,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state noted that the modern world is becoming more and more complex, and today many people are wondering: what will happen tomorrow? “The answer is simple. Our future depends only on ourselves. No one is able to shake the stability and independence in Belarus from outside today. Only we can decide the future of our people. This is up to us. The power and strength of the state, the inviolability of its sovereignty are determined by people - by their work, unity and devotion to the native land,” the president said.
