Belarusian regions lauded for effective use of local innovation funds

The rate of utilization of local innovation funds approached 100% in some regions, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers to discuss the use of innovation funds in 2023, BelTA has learned

Roman Golovchenko spoke about the dynamics of the utilization of local innovation funds. "Some regions have worked well. These are Minsk Oblast, Grodno Oblast, Brest Oblast. The rate of utilization approached 100%, without taking into account the expenses on digitization. Vitebsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast, the city of Minsk, have done ok too. The rate of utilization of the innovation funds was about 90%," the prime minister stressed. 
Roman Golovchenko noted that the above-mentioned expenditures were about projects in innovations and import substitution.

"We face the strategic tasks in terms of technological sovereignty, especially in terms of digitalization, domestic software and management systems. This is a matter of strategic development of our manufacturing sector," Roman Golovchenko said.
