Belarusian and Russian youth will take part in the project “Skarynov Days in Polotsk”

The republican cultural and educational project “Skarynov Days in Polotsk” will be held on September 16-17, BELTA reports.

More than 300 children from Belarus and Russia will take part in the project. The start of the "Skorinovsky Days" will be the launch of interactive platforms at 11.00 in Polotsk secondary school No. 18 named after Euphrosyne Polotskaya, where children will show their talents in various tests. The grand opening of the two-day large-scale event will take place at 11.30.The Skarinov Olympiad and the Polotsk Rook chess tournament will begin at Polotsk Gymnasium No. 1 named after Francysk Skaryna at 13.15. At the same time, the intellectual tournament "Skarinov Games" will start in Secondary School No. 18, and the regional center for children and youth will host contests "Small Road Book" and street art sketches "Seal of Time: inspired by the legacy of Francis Skarina". From 13:30, participants of the events are invited to the Polotsk Cadet School for an interactive session "The power of the word: youth, media, social initiatives".
At 15.30, the guys will have an excursion to the Mound of Immortality, and at 19.00 in the city House of Culture there will be a performance performed by Polotsk artists.
The program of the "Skorinovsky days" on September 17 will open an interactive lesson on the museums of Polotsk at 9.50. The children will be shown a rich collection of local lore, will tell about the life of Simeon Polotsky, will be introduced to the stages of the development of printing in Belarus, samples of hand weaving of the Lake district and the diversity of the natural world of the Polotsk land. Next, the young participants of the project will have a sightseeing tour of the most ancient city of Belarus, schoolchildren will be able to visit St. Sophia Cathedral and the Spaso-Euphrosyne Convent.
An exhibition panorama will start working at School No. 18 at 13.00, and the republican cultural and educational project will be closed at 13.20. At the closing ceremony of the chess tournament in Gymnasium No. 1, the winners of 64-cell battles will be awarded.
