Belarus’ Orthodox mark Palm Sunday

On 28 April Belarusian believers celebrated the Entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem, or Willow (Palm) Sunday, the last one before the Holy Week, BELTA has learned.

By a tradition, this day starts with a religious procession and divine liturgies in churches. Church-goers have their willows blessed. Willows symbolize palm branches which were used to cover the road for Jesus Christ some 2,000 years ago.
