Belarus’ CEC comments on qualifications, political affiliation of candidates at upcoming elections

265 candidates will compete for 110 seats in the House of Representatives, BelTA has learned.

According to the CEC, the candidates to the House of Representatives include 112 members of the Belaya Rus Party, 33 members of the Communist Party of Belarus, 36 members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, and 22 members of the Republican Labor and Justice Party.

As for top professional qualifications, 82 candidates are engaged in science, healthcare, culture and sport, 50 work in government agencies, 49 –in industry, transport and construction.

The candidates to local councils of deputies include 5,187 members of the Belaya Rus Party, 700 members of the Communist Party of Belarus, 215 members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, and 484 members of the Republican Labor and Justice Party.

As for the professional qualifications of candidates, 6,324 candidates are engaged in science, healthcare, culture and sport, 3,079 work in agriculture, 2,886 – in government agencies.
