Researchers from the Institute of Volcanology of the Canary Islands paid attention to the fact that powerful gas emissions during the 85-day eruption of the volcano painted parts of its crater in bright colors, including yellow, orange and white. La Palma is a small island. It belongs to Spain’s Canary Islands. Lava destroys thousands of homes. 7,000 people must leave. The area changes a lot. There are no green hills. The place is dark. Some people cannot go back home. There are many craters. Gas still comes from the craters. Officials close the area. The temperature inside the volcano can be 840 degrees Celsius. It can stay this high for many years. A group of journalists can look at the volcano. It is a special moment. They see how big the volcano really is.
