The Ufa-based enterprise assembles 80hp and 130hp MTZ tractors. MTZ supplies tractor assembly kits as part of a direct contract with 100% payment in advance. An agreement has been reached to expand the model range of the Ufa-based enterprise by adding tracked tractors, BelTA learned from Mikhail Vardugin, Deputy Marketing Director for Commerce in the CIS, Head of the CIS Promotion and Sales Office. The enterprise will assemble MTZ-1502 tractors with the engine capacity of 156hp and MTZ-2103 tractors with the engine capacity of 212hp.
Assembled in Ufa, the MTZ tractors are fitted with navigation devices among other things and participate in a regional Bashkortostan subsidizing program. “We expect the tracked tractors to be eligible for the local programs on support for agricultural producers. We expect some of their cost will be compensated for the end consumers,” Mikhail Vardugin noted.
The sides are now deciding on how much the tractor assembly kits should cost. “It is a fundamental matter. The final product has to be competitive. There are no other problems for now,” the executive noted.
MTZ supplies vehicles to Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan via two channels. Ready-made MTZ tractors are sold by MTZ-Tatarstan and its Bashkortostan dealership OOO PO Tekhresurs. Tractor assembly kits are shipped to Ufa where they are assembled by GUSP Bashselkhoztekhnika as part of a license agreement. The assembly enterprise was opened in 2017 and initially made only MTZ-82 tractors. One year later it started making MTZ-1221.3 tractors.
MTZ is one of the world's largest manufacturers of agricultural machines. Apart from the main factory the holding company MTZ comprises ten enterprises. As many as 25 assembly enterprises have been established abroad. MTZ products are represented in over 60 countries.
