Minsk, St. Petersburg discuss cooperation in sports

Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk has met with Chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Committee of the Government of St. Petersburg Anton Shantyr, BelTA learned from the press service of the Sports and Tourism Ministry, BELTA has learned.

The participants of the meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation in physical culture and sports. The parties emphasized the importance of exchanges of sports delegations and confirmed their intention to provide comprehensive assistance in holding joint sports events.

Anton Shantyr said that Belarus has well-developed sports infrastructure and outstanding sports legacy. In addition, he invited a Belarusian delegation headed by the minister to attend the opening ceremony of the 3rd All-Russian Sports Games of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky in St. Petersburg.
