Belarus suspends dialogue on human rights with the European Union, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel on 17 November, BelTA has learned.

“Some countries are trying to criticize us on human rights issues, on issues of democracy. All this is absolutely artificially politicized. We see this with the UN Human Rights Council and a number of other organizations,” the minister noted. “We see no point in continuing the dialogue on human rights with the European Union. We are suspending this dialogue until the EU decides to change the policy of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, have frozen the cooperation programs with Belarus,” Vladimir Makei said.

"We do not see much sense of our working on the full-fledged basis in the Eastern Partnership initiative. All these measures are only a response to the destructive steps taken by our European partners towards Belarus," Vladimir Makei stressed.
