Moscow to host CSTO high-level meeting in May

Moscow will host a meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on 26 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Russian Security Council Office.

The event will be held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, with the participation of the Security Council secretaries of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the CSTO chief.

“The meeting will look into the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security regions and the organization's activities during the intersessional period. Given Russia’s CSTO presidency in 2026, information will be conveyed to the partners regarding the implementation of Russia's priorities in the organization in 2026, in accordance with the plan approved by Chairman of the Collective Security Council Vladimir Putin,” the press service noted.

The parties are expected to sign a number of decisions aimed at improving the collective security system and the activities of the CSTO Secretariat.
