The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is set to meet in St. Petersburg in December 2023, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan on 24 August, BelTA has learned.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his message to the heads of EAEU countries in January, came up with an initiative to discuss the progress made in the implementation of strategic development of Eurasian integration, and also to start preparing new documents of long-term planning which will determine the vectors of future interaction.

“The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is expected to hold its meeting in St. Petersburg in December. In addition to a report on the progress achieved, it is important to present our leaders with concrete initiatives for our cooperation. There is a proposal to include them in a declaration on the main tasks and key areas of further development of integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Union, and to adopt this strategic document at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where our leaders are set to gather at the end of the year,” Mikhail Mishustin said.
