Belarus, Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast aim to expand machinery supply cooperation

Belarus and Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast plan to develop cooperation in machinery supplies. The matter was discussed during a meeting between Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko and Governor of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast Alexander Tsybulsky in Minsk on 24 August, BelTA has learned.

“Our mutual trade spans various areas. Understandably, the logistics are somewhat challenging, but we continue our work. Arkhangelsk Oblast remains a key priority for Belarus in many ways, and there is significant room to further expand both exports and imports,” Yuri Shuleiko said.
He identified mechanical engineering, specifically passenger, mining, and utility equipment, along with agriculture, forestry, and the food industry as high-potential areas for cooperation.
Alexander Tsybulsky noted that current trade between Belarus and Arkhangelsk Oblast falls short of its potential, emphasizing that every effort must be made to boost it. The governor placed a particular focus on passenger transport cooperation. With Arkhangelsk Oblast planning a vehicle fleet upgrade, there is a strong interest in acquiring Belarusian models. Setting up multi-brand service and maintenance support is equally vital.
