Snopkov: Belarusian economy looks set to meet 2023 growth target

Since March 2023 the Belarusian economy has been on the annual growth track, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers to review the economic performance in H1 2023, BelTA has learned.

"Since March, the economy has been on the annual growth track. The GDP expanded by 2% in H1 2023, by 7.1% in June. To meet the 3.8% GDP growth target, which is the most important parameter, the economy must grow at a rate of at least 6% per month in the second half of the year. The ministries, concerns, executive committees have been communicated the tasks that will ensure reaching the target," Nikolai Snopkov said.

According to him, in the first half of the year, industrial output expanded by 6% year-on-year and is back to the level of the first half of 2021.
