NAIP's partners from S Korea show interest in Belarusian start-ups

An automatic drone-guided plant protection system, a grain harvest scanner, an energy-saving greenhouse… These and other investment projects worth about $20 million were presented to partners from the Minsk Office of the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) at a meeting hosted by NAIP.

"In 2022, the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Belarus celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations," the head of KOTRA's Minsk Office said. “All this time we have cooperated in various industries, including information technology and agriculture. Now it is important to gradually move forward and then in we will achieve great results the future." He got acquainted with the most promising investment proposals, the mechanism for implementing projects within the framework of public-private partnership.

"Investments are always about the future, about technologies that will be in demand in five, ten, fifteen years. Therefore, we are open to dialogue and are always ready to help businesses in finding promising projects. The task of the agency is to be one-stop-shop, a kind of guide that will help the investor navigate when entering the Belarusian market," NAIP Director Dmitry Krasovsky said.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is a state-run not-for-profit organization established by the Korean government in 1962 in order to facilitate the development of business ties of the Republic of Korea all over the world. At present KOTRA has 127 offices in 84 countries. KOTRA's Minsk office was opened in 2014. in most countries KOTRA's offices are part of embassies and have diplomatic status. In Belarus, the agency is known as the Commerce Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

In 2021, NAIP and KOTRA signed a cooperation agreement to assist entrepreneurs, enterprises and organizations of their countries in the development of bilateral business ties and mutually beneficial cooperation.
