Belarus-Russia Business Council discusses family business support, procurement programs in Ufa

The Minsk city officials, heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Russia, senators and top executives of the two countries took part in a meeting of the Belarus-Russia Business Council within the framework of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which is taking place in Ufa these days, BelTA has learned.

The Business Council put together a list of major topics: support for family business, transition to gas engine fuel, mutual access to public procurement programs and leasing payment programs.

Minsk First Vice Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich noted that Minsk provides state support for small and medium-sized family businesses. "The Minsk city administration also supports the accelerated transition to the manufacture of new vehicles running on gas engine fuel and encourages setting up new production facilities and related infrastructure for this," Nadezhda Lazarevich emphasized.

Sergei Katyrin, Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, added that the samples of vehicles showcased at the current exhibition when converted to gas engine fuel will give a significant economic effect alone.

"In mechanical engineering, we already have the first samples completely assembled from Belarusian and Russian components," said Mikhail Myatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
