Director General of the Vitebsk Culture Center, Director of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Gleb Lapitsky put forward his proposals. He suggested holding the festival for four days like this year (in the past the festival ran for about a week). This step will make the program of the festival busier and help tap into all the resources. The director of the festival also believes it would be great to use indoor venues for the festival as well as develop the open-air format that appeals to the youth.
Gleb Lapitsky believes it is also important to focus on the festival's advertising campaign in Belarus and abroad, individual work with sponsors, and introduction of new advertising services. He proposed to hold a promotion tour ahead of the anniversary edition of the festival in various countries, combining it, where possible, with national stages of the song competitions.
“Our primary goal is to achieve the maximum attendance and cost recovery from ticket sales,” Gleb Lapitsky stressed.
This year's edition of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival was held on 16-19 July. It brought together people from 23 countries and had 3,700 accredited participants, including big celebrities who took part in the festival despite all the difficulties. The festival also employed 130 volunteers, which improved the work of many services. The 15 venues of the festival, including several new ones (for example, an outdoor stage by the Vitebsk Concert Hall and the Soviet Army Park), hosted over 100 events that drew an audience of 67,500 people. The festival was covered by more than 330 accredited media representatives.
