Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the cooperation between the two ministries in helping citizens of the two countries to return home, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Taking into account the decisions taken by Russia on 25 March to suspend regular and charter air service from Russian airports, Belarus has asked not to differentiate between citizens of the two countries during repatriation missions,” the ministry said.

Sergey Lavrov assured that Russia would do its best to help all Belarusian and Russian nationals in a difficult situation, the press service said.

“An agreement has been reached to continue clear regular interaction between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries in order to address emerging pressing issues. The embassies of Russia and Belarus will remain in close contact to provide assistance to citizens of both countries,” the ministry said.
