Four Belarusian nationals tested positive for coronavirus this weekend. They arrived from Munich, Amsterdam and Moscow. All of them were isolated upon arrival. The people who came in close contact with them were also hospitalized.
Among the patients are also five students of Belarusian State University. Their first tests came back positive. The second tests also showed virus RNA. However, none of them shows any symptoms of a disease.
Within the past 24 hours, 950 samples were studied. Another 200 samples are in the works. All in all, since February the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology has carried out over 16,000 tests for COVID-19.
The press service noted that the placement of foreign students from at-risk countries in contact centers has proved the right decision. As of 16 March, 128 foreign students are in the Zagorie rehabilitation center and 153 are in the Brigantina recreation center of Belarusian State University. There is enough room in these centers to complete this type of restrictive measures.
Some 2,583 people are under medical surveillance now. All of them show no symptoms of an infection, the Healthcare Ministry added.
