From September 9 to 29, 2025, the Zubrenok National Children's and Youth Center is hosting the Union State's civic-patriotic cadet shift, "For the Honor of the Fatherland." Participants include students in grades 9 and 10 from cadet schools, specialized lyceums, and cadet-focused general education institutions from various regions of Russia, all regions of Belarus, and the city of Minsk.

The day before, on September 18, Union State Day was celebrated during the "For the Honor of the Fatherland" session. Leonid Azhevsky, Advisor to the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk, addressed the event's organizers, participants, and guests with a welcoming address, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

In his speech, Leonid Azhevsky emphasized the importance of this large-scale project for strengthening friendly ties between the youth of the two countries. "I am confident that this large-scale Union State project allows you to communicate, play games together, and share your experiences," he noted.

The camp's program places special emphasis on patriotic education and preserving historical memory in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The advisor reported that the organizers have planned a number of important excursions for the cadets. "We're planning trips to the legendary Brest Fortress and the Great Patriotic War Museum, where I think you'll be able to experience the weight and pain of the turbulent war years as adults," Azhevsky stated.

He expressed confidence that visiting these memorial sites will help the younger generation independently appreciate the true value of a peaceful life.

Leonid Azhevsky concluded his speech with warm wishes for everyone gathered. "I sincerely wish everyone good health, good spirits, and continued success in the new academic year," he concluded.

NOTE: The Cadet Rally has been held at Zubrenok since 2007, during which time more than eight thousand children from Belarus and Russia have attended the center. Participants in the civic-patriotic session at Zubrenok include students in grades 9-10 from cadet schools, specialized lyceums, and general education organizations with a cadet focus in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as general secondary education institutions in the Republic of Belarus that implement additional educational programs for children and youth with a military-patriotic focus.

The 2025 cadet shift will consist of 504 participants, including 252 students (21 delegations) from the Russian Federation and 252 students (21 delegations) from the Republic of Belarus. The cadet shift will last until September 29.
