The Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry will help attract small and medium-sized businesses of the region to the import substitution platform of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), Elena Mironova, vice president of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said during a visit to the BUCE central office as part of a delegation of the region's business circles, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

In her words, the urgency of the import substitution matter for Belarus and Russia opens up great opportunities for cooperation between representatives of the business community, so the tool offered by the BUCE will certainly be in demand.

“The issue of import substitution is quite acute both in Perm Oblast and other Russian regions. However, as for the development of private business and the economy in general it is more of a positive moment than a negative one. Judge for yourself: promising niches are being freed in the market, new production chains are being formed, with incentives appearing to introduce advanced technologies and implement innovative projects. I am sure that similar processes are now taking place in Belarus,” said Elena Mironova.

The exchange can act as a link between producers and consumers of goods, providing, on the one hand, an additional sales channel and, on the other hand, a safe purchasing mechanism. “It seems to me that such a tool will be especially in demand among small and medium-sized businesses. We are ready to provide all necessary assistance for Perm business to enter the Belarusian trading platform, especially since a number of companies from our region are already participating in the exchange trading, and they are doing quite successfully,” the deputy head of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed.

Eduard Belsky, First Deputy Chairman of the BUCE Board, made a counter proposal to organize comprehensive interaction with the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to achieve not only growth of exchange commodity turnover between Belarus and Perm Territory, but also to realize the transit potential of the exchange platform.

“We are extremely interested in increasing the number of bidders from Perm Territory, and first of all the producers of import-substituting industrial goods, which are in high demand among Belarusian consumers. Suffice it to mention the Polymer company which sells a wide range of fluoroplastic products on the Belarusian market. Of the 12 accredited Perm companies, this company is the leader in terms of both number and volume of transactions. We would like as many such active participants as possible to come to the exchange with the support of the chamber of commerce and industry. We will not only provide access to thousands of potential business partners from Belarus, but also open a window for exports to third countries,” Eduard Belsky said.
