Organizing committee set up for Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions

An organizing committee to arrange and conduct the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia has been set up. It will be led by Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Isachenko, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament.

The organizing committee includes members of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic, heads of ministries and government agencies, oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Council, rectors of higher learning institutions, representatives of the business community and heads of regional councils of deputies.

“In 2020 the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will be hosted by Minsk and Minsk Oblast. The forum will traditionally feature a plenary session, panel discussions, a session of the interparliamentary commission for interregional cooperation of the Council of the Republic and the Federation Council. A series of regional events will be held on the sidelines of the forum.

The Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is held every year under the aegis of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
