Kochanova, Matviyenko discuss cooperation between Belarus, Russia

Natalya Kochanova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, held a meeting on the sidelines of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Bishkek on 16 November, BelTA has learned.

"Parliamentary work is fundamental for us. I am grateful to both Kyrgyzstan side and you, Valentina Ivanovna, for the invitation to take part in the events of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly," Natalya Kochanova said.
"I am very glad to meet with you again. It is good that we have such an opportunity not only as part of bilateral visits,but also within the framework of the IPA and other international platforms. Thus our parliamentary dialogue is never interrupted. We are in good shape and are working on the agenda for the future. Our dialogue is always very constructive and result-oriented," Valentina Matviyenko said.
Natalya Kochanova and Valentina Matviyenko discussed a number of issues related to the development of bilateral relations between Belarus and Russia, relations within the framework of the Union State and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Belarus' parliamentary delegation led by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova is taking part in the events of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on 16-17 November. The CIS IPA Council is set to discuss topical issues on the agenda, take stock of the activities in 2023, and provide the information on the monitoring of election campaign in the CIS. The CIS IPA Standing Commissions on Political Affairs and International Cooperation and on Social Policy and Human Rights as well as the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly will hold meetings on the same day. The Belarusian delegation will take part in the international conference dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
