Roscosmos has proposed for consideration three new programmes and one project of the Union State worth RUB 6.33 billion, said Dmitry Bakanov. ‘For us, co-operation with Belarus is one of the priority areas of international activity,’ he added. ‘We attach great importance to joint R&D and technological work under the Union State programmes.’
Dmitry Mezentsev noted that co-operation between Roscosmos and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus has been successfully developing for many years and bringing significant results. ‘Seven programmes of the Union State have been implemented for a total of RUB 8.57 billion,’ he said, adding that the eighth programme, related to the development of basic elements of orbital and ground facilities for multi-satellite constellations of small spacecraft for Earth remote sensing, is under implementation for RUB 1.98 billion.
The Union State Secretary stressed that the Supreme State Council and the Council of Ministers pay special attention to the practical results of the programmes financed from the Union budget. ‘An instruction has been given to include tangible results in the Union State Property Register from 2026, ensuring their implementation and commercialisation,’ he said.
To the present day, Russian and Belarusian specialists continue to work on the development of a remote sensing spacecraft and a space system based on it. In 2024, the first female cosmonaut of Belarus, Marina Vasilevskaya, travelled to the ISS on the Russian Soyuz MS spacecraft.
