The agreement was signed by the Belarusian national energy company Belenergo, OAO Belenergoremnaladka, AO Engineering and Technology Center GET, and Rosatom's country office in Belarus.
During the signing ceremony Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich noted that the ministry pays close attention to these matters because the use of modern equipment simulators at power engineering facilities ensures the high level of training and advanced training of the personnel in addition to reliable operation of the power engineering equipment. “Our country has accumulated some experience in this field. The relevant products are available. We are interested in examining capabilities of Rosatom's organizations in this area. I believe our interaction will be mutually beneficial,” he stressed.
The agreement provides for realizing joint projects, which envisage the use of analytical and full-scale equipment simulation complexes in the power engineering industry in addition to the development of digital twins of technological cycles of power plants, boiler houses, and other power engineering installations. The document also provides for studying and assimilating the best practices concerning the operation of power engineering equipment.
Positive examples of such cooperation are already available: with Rosatom's assistance a full-scale equipment simulator for personnel training has been installed and is successfully used in the educational center of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. It is an exact replica of the central control room of a nuclear power plant unit.
Results of joint work in building equipment simulators and in digital industry are also important from the point of view of import substitution. They are particularly important today amid external restrictions and the pressure of sanctions, the Belarusian energy minister stressed. “By signing the agreement, we made another step towards stronger technological sovereignty of our countries,” Viktor Karankevich remarked.
Belarus' cooperation with Rosatom advances in a number of areas. Those include the construction and operation of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, management of radioactive waste, and allied industries – manufacturing sector, nuclear medicine, and electric vehicles. “The potential of our partnership has not been depleted. We have promising joint projects ahead of us,” the Belarusian energy minister added.
It was noted during the signing ceremony that the agreement will also open new opportunities for organizations to improve the quality of modeling and designing of electric equipment parts and components, the quality of their virtual testing using modern digital solutions and cutting-edge visualization media. Close attention will be paid to the development and introduction of Belarusian software for the specified purposes.
