The bill was submitted to the House of Representatives by the Council of Ministers on 15 April.
The Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Russian Federation on Regulation of Cooperation in Oil and Oil Product Exports of 12 January 2007 was signed in Minsk on 6 December 2024.
The protocol provides for the extension of the agreement until 31 December 2026, and its automatic prolongation after 31 December 2026 for subsequent one-year periods, unless either party notifies the other party three months prior to the expiration of the current period of its intention to terminate the agreement. The document introduces an indefinite period of validity for the rule on the annual inclusion in indicative balances of crude oil intended for the Republic of Belarus in the amount of 24 million tonnes, supplied by pipeline and other modes of transport (i.e., this rule is now valid for the duration of the agreement).
The protocol will be temporarily applied 10 days after its signing until it comes into force.
