Belarus’ PM: Union State has no analogues in the world

There are no analogues to the Union State in the world practice, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at an official meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater in Minsk on 8 December, BelTA has learned.

“Today is a day of great importance in the history of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. Exactly 25 years ago our countries chose a unique path of joint development in the format of the Union State, which has no analogues in the world practice,” Roman Golovchenko said.
The prime minister read out an address to the peoples of Belarus and Russia on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty from Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The event was attended by top officials of the Republic of Belarus, heads of government bodies and organizations of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, other invitees. The program featured Modest Mussorgsky's opera Khovanshchina by the State Academic Mariinsky Theatre.
