Belarus win 16 medals at Khanty-Mansiysk Games

The Alternative Winter Paralympic Games “We are Together. Sports” finished in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia on 20 March, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian national team won five golds, two silvers and nine bronzes. Belarusian para cross-country skier Valiantsina Shyts became a three-time champion. Belarusian skier Sviatlana Sakhanenka clinched two golds and one silver. Darya Fedzkovich won one silver and three bronzes. Dzmitry Loban and Yury Holub claimed two bronzes each. Lidziya Loban and Raman Svirydzenka collected bronze each.

The Alternative Winter Paralympic Games “We are Together. Sports” featured athletes from Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The competition program of the Games included six sports: cross-country skiing, biathlon, curling, snowboarding, alpine skiing and sledge ice hockey. Belarus fielded 16 athletes who were supposed to perform at the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing.
