Russian Ministry of Health has updated the recommendations for treating COVID-19. The list of recommended drugs includes ‘Mir-19’, as well as the vaccine for adolescents. Treatment protocols have been changed taking into account the new "omicron" variant. The website of the Russian department informs of this.

The Russian Ministry of Health has clarified the methodological recommendations on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection for the 14th time, and the updated document contains information on "omicron". In addition, the recommendations updated the data on the description of coronavirus infection and its clinical manifestations.
In Russia, the drug ‘Mir-19’, as well as antiviral medication are now permitted to be used for the treatment of a COVID-19: Molnupiravir, synthetic small interfering ribonucleic acid (miRNA) [double-stranded] (trade name – ‘Mir-19’) and nirmatrelvir and ritonavir. Favipiravir is now approved for intravenous injection. The protocols for the treatment of patients with severe illness have been changed.
Recommendations also include coronavirus vaccine for adolescents ‘Sputnik M’. It is approved for use for people over 12.
