Belarus, Russia discuss cooperation in construction industry

Cooperation in urban development and housing construction, transport and road infrastructure were in focus of the online meeting of the Belarus-Russia Business Council, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

The videoconference took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Taking part in it were co-chairs of the Belarus-Russia Business Council Alexander Yastrib (from the Russian side) and Nadezhda Lazarevich (from the Belarusian side), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Russian Federation Vladimir Semashko, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Padalko, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the City ​​of Moscow Igor Tkach, representatives of Russian government agencies, financial institutions, businesses of Belarus and Russia.

The participants of the videoconference discussed key tasks of the Belarus-Russia Business Council for the near future, topical issues of the economic agenda, mechanisms to create a comfortable urban environment in the two countries, the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in urban and housing construction, transport and road infrastructure, a possibility for Belarusian companies to take part in infrastructure projects in the Russian Federation.

Representatives of Belarusian enterprises presented products and solutions for the federal project Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment and the Smart City urban digitalization project. These solutions included mechanized parking systems, modern elevators, elements of the Smart House system and other solutions.

Addressing the meeting participants, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Denis Meleshkin noted that since the end of last year, the Belarus-Russia Business Council has noticeably intensified its work, it serves as a platform for discussing joint projects, searching for new ways of integration of businesses of the two countries. “It is gratifying to note that today's meeting is practical in nature: Belarusian enterprises will present specific solutions that may be useful to the Russian market, the parties are looking for ways to promote mutually beneficial cooperation,” he said.

Denis Meleshkin also stressed that the BelCCI expects the Business Council to continue facilitating contacts between the business communities of the two countries. The BCCI is ready to assist this in every possible way, to provide a platform for establishing and expanding contacts.
