Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Botswana

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi on the national holiday - Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state noted that Botswana has achieved political stability and socio-economic growth; its foreign policy is based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs of sovereign states, the same principles that Belarus is committed to.

“I am confident that Belarus and Botswana have significant potential for expanding political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation,” the president emphasized. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus is interested in building meaningful cooperation in agriculture, food security, industry, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and education. The country is also ready to offer educational and training programs for Botswana citizens.

“I hope that stronger interstate cooperation achieved by joint efforts will soon yield significant results,” the president noted.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Mokgweetsi Masisi good health, longevity and success, and the friendly people of Botswana - peace and confidence in the future.
