Industrial cooperation between Belarus, Russia's Penza Oblast described as important

Industrial cooperation is one of the key areas of bilateral relations between Belarus and Penza Oblast of Russia, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko said following negotiations with Penza Oblast Governor Oleg Melnichenko on 1 April, the government press service told BelTA.

According to Yuri Shuleiko, Belarus and Penza Oblast primarily cooperate in mechanical engineering, food supply, spare parts and assembly kits trade and in machine tool manufacturing. The deputy prime minister also highlighted the high-level competencies both parties have in agriculture.
 
In 2024, the trade between Belarus and Penza Oblast amounted to $152 million, and, encouragingly, it is gaining momentum, Yuri Shuleiko emphasized.


He identified industrial cooperation as one of the key areas of mutual interest, along with the supply of equipment from Belarusian industrial giants such as Amkodor, MTZ and MAZ.
 
During the visit, the Penza Oblast delegation signed an agreement to deliver 60 Minsk Automobile Plant buses powered by compressed natural gas in the near future.
