"Novosibirsk Oblast is one of Belarus' key partners in the Russian Federation. In April, the prime minister of our country paid a visit to your region. Many issues were discussed then, goals and objectives for cooperation were outlined. Our meeting provides an opportunity to compare notes and see how we are moving forward. 2022 was quite successful from an economic point of view: the trade ballooned by almost 43% and approached $500 million. This year, the growth has slowed down but I am sure that we still have the opportunity to catch up and achieve growth over 2022," Piotr Parkhomchik noted.
On 9 October, during the meeting of the governor with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko the parties discussed a project to set up an integrated center that will unite all Belarusian manufacturers of machine-building equipment. It is being created at the MTZ-Siberia trading house. "We have adopted such a program. In certain regions of Russia we will open multi-brand sites where we will offer customers almost the entire line-up of products manufactured in Belarus. Not just tractors, but also grain and forage harvesters, utility vehicles, passenger transport. This site will be a scientific center for training, maintenance and spare parts. This will be a Belarusian technology hub in Novosibirsk Oblast. We plan to move very quickly. I think this will give a serious impetus to our relations," the deputy prime minister said.
Promoting cooperation in manufacturing is one of the priorities for Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast. "We are doing well on this front. The BKM-Siberia Joint Venture is successfully implementing plans in terms of passenger vehicles. We need to plan everything very clearly not only for 2023, but also for 2024. The equipment has proven well in the Russian Federation and is in high demand," Piotr Parkhomchik emphasized.
In addition, the manufacturer of electric drives is developing active cooperation with BelAZ. "It is very important that today we have moved from simple industrial cooperation to joint development and design of new generators, traction engines for BelAZ. It's design and technology to improve the quality of the product. It is important that together, in cooperation, we produce these units, which are also used in the production of locomotives in the Russian Federation. We need to chart the cooperation prospects for 2024," Piotr Parkhomchik added.
