Belarus, Russia’s Tyumen Oblast discuss technological sovereignty, import substitution

The Belarusian state-run petrochemical concern Belneftekhim hosted a business delegation of south-western Siberia on 20 February, BelTA learned from the press service of Belneftekhim Concern. 

The meeting focused on the technological sovereignty of the Russian region and Belarus. The parties also discussed how to work together on import substitution in the face of sanctions. Vladimir Sizov, deputy chairman of Belneftekhim Concern, stressed that Belarus and Russia are interested in promoting mutual deliveries of their products. He also added that the sectoral and intersectoral cooperation with business partners contributes to the development.

The guests spoke about the significant role of Tyumen Oblast in the oil industry of the Russian Federation. The region has set up unique oil and gas clusters bringing together specialized companies from a dozen regions of Russia. In particular, Belneftekhim Concern was offered to join the work by such clusters.

The parties also gave consideration to ways of promoting Russian oil exports in the Belarusian direction, the prospects for cooperation between enterprises of Belarus and Tyumen Oblast. Mozyr Oil Refinery, Belorusneft and other enterprises are interested in cooperation with Siberian producers.
