There has been a massive shift from legal entity imports to imports by individuals. The segment of “pure electric vehicles” grew by 181%. The share of electric vehicles among new cars more than doubled, reaching 23%.

Dmitry Yarota clarified that the overall market includes all vehicles registered in Belarus: those sold by legal entities and those imported by individuals.

The Belgee brand (22,830) became the sales leader, accounting for approximately 30% of the new car market. The top 15 also included Lada (10,440), Geely (9,030), BYD (6,610), Dongfeng (5,040), Voyah (2,530), Deepal (2,260), Li Auto (2,230), Nissan (1,380), BMW (1,230), Chevrolet (1,040), FAW (930), Haval (760), Mazda (560), and Zeekr (560). Regarding specific models, the most commonly purchased vehicles were the Belgee X50 (11,380), Belgee S50 (6,270), and Belgee X70 (4,840).

Dmitry Yarota noted that while the Belarusian Automobile Association previously published data on sales by BAA dealers, the figures now include overall market trends.

“Individuals imported and registered about 100,000 vehicles, while legal entities registered 31,400 cars. Approximately 29,000 cars were manufactured by the BelGee plant, sold, and registered. It was individuals who provided the maximum growth compared to the previous year, an increase of 19%,” explained Dmitry Yarota, adding that the domestic manufacturer also showed growth, whereas legal entities’ sales remained roughly at last year’s level.

In terms of engine types, priority was still given to vehicles with internal combustion engines (82% of the total, or 130,400). 8,500 hybrids and about 20,000 electric vehicles were imported and registered. Market growth occurred primarily in the NEV (New Energy Vehicle - electric and hybrid) class.

The market structure has undergone changes. The share of new cars (up to 2 years old) increased over the year from 41% to 47%. The new car market as a whole grew by 31%.

According to the BAA-Consult director, new cars were most frequently imported by legal entities from China (62%), Russia (35%), and Germany (1.3%). In the previous year, the leading source of imported vehicles was Russia.
