Belarus is considering the possibility of lifting visa requirements for citizens of neighboring European Union countries, the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The step is designed to build up good neighborhood relations and contribute to the development of incoming tourism. The State Border Committee of Belarus is also considering allowing citizens of neighboring European Union countries to visit the border zone without passes.

The number of foreign citizens coming from neighboring European Union countries rose after Belarus lifted coronavirus-related restrictions on crossing the border, the source said.
