Marianna Shchetkina: The meeting of the High Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers is scheduled for June, the agenda includes over 10 items

The meeting of the High Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers is expected to be held in June. The agenda of the meeting has already been prepared. All agenda items are very well prepared, said Head of the Representative Office of the Union State Standing Committee in Minsk Marianna Schiotkina in an interview with soyuz.by correspondent.

“The preliminary meeting is scheduled for June. However, the agenda as well as the exact date of the meeting may be altered before June since in modern conditions, with such a level of turbulence, the situation can change any moment,” commented Marianna Schiotkina.
According to the Head of the Representative Office of the Union State Standing Committee in Minsk, the draft agenda includes more than 10 socially important issues, including mutual access of enterprises and goods to the markets of the two countries, transit, cancellation of roaming, another cadet session “For the Honor of the Fatherland!” and other questions.
It is worth noting that the meeting of the High Level Group is planned to be held via videoconference due to the current epidemiological situation. Moreover, because of the pandemic, some mass events had to be postponed.
“Twenty-five Union State events have been planned for this year. Most of them are a part of the youth policy. As a rule, these are mass events. Their execution is under the control of the Union State Standing Committee. A decision has already been made to postpone separate stages of the events,” said Marianna Schiotkina.
She also said that in total over 4.5 billion Russian rubles was allocated in order to implement Union State programmes, projects and activities in 2020.
“Regardless of the epidemiological situation, all issues are being resolved. Union programs are being implemented, ordering customers are working. The same situation as regards the projects. Now we are waiting for the opening of the Rzhev Memorial. Brest Fortress is being modernized as planned. To sum up, everything is on schedule,” said the Head of the Representative Office.
“The progress of Union State programmes, projects, activities and budget execution are under the control of the Standing Committee. All issues are carefully analyzed and promptly resolved at working sessions with the State Secretary of the Union State,” concluded Marianna Schetkina.
