Viktor Lukashenko re-elected president of Belarus’ NOC

The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus hosted the NOC General Assembly of the organization, BelTA learned.

Viktor Lukashenko was re-elected president of the NOC of Belarus, while Dzmitry Dauhalionak was re-elected vice president of the NOC. As a result of the voting, the NOC Executive Board now includes Aliaksandr Bahdanovich, Siarhei Rutenka, Iryna Malevanaya, Liubou Charkashyna, Natallia Tsylinskaya, Andrey Barbashinsky, Alim Selimau, Olena Zubrilova and Aliaksei Prakapovich.

“The members of the Executive Board represent summer and winter sports, both individual and team sports. There are three Olympic champions and two Olympic medalists, and all those elected have proven themselves to be good sports leaders. We have an excellent team, which is intimately familiar with today's realities and ready to promptly solve emerging issues,” NOC Secretary General Ksenia Sankovich said. 
“I am honored to be elected to such an esteemed position. We will do our best to help our Olympic movement. There is a lot of work to do,” head of the Belarusian Tennis Federation Siarhei Rutenka said. “We are in touch with the international federation on the matter of lifting the restrictions. It's a long process, but I'm sure that it will lead to a positive result.” 

In addition, Irina Leparskaya, head coach of the national rhythmic gymnastics team, and Vladimir Shantarovich, head coach of the national rowing and canoeing team, were elected honorary members of the NOC of Belarus for their services to the Olympic movement.
