Track cycling medals for Belarus at Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

The Lokosphinx cycle sport center in St. Petersburg, Russia played host to the final leg of the international track cycling Grand Prix series, BelTA has learned.

The fourth competition day featured the individual sprint and omnium events. Artsiom Zaitsau won the men’s sprint. Two Belarusian cyclists graced the podium in the omnium event. Karalina Biryuk claimed gold, Alina Korotkina collected silver.

Earlier, Artsiom Zaitsau won the team sprint together with cyclists from Russia’s Tula Oblast. Karalina Biryuk finished second in the pursuit. Nastassia Kiptsikava of Belarus clinched gold in the event.

The competitions at the Lokosphinx cycle sport center will finish with madison and keirin events on Friday.
