Three gold medals for Belarus at Russian Speed Skating Cup

Belarusian athletes went off to a good start at the first stage of the Russian Speed Skating Cup in Kolomna, BelTA has learned.

Ignat Golovatsiuk clocked 1:09.87 to win the men's 1,000m. Russia's Yelizaveta Golubeva was victorious in the women's 1,000m, Belarus' Ekaterina Sloeva came in 6th.
Belarusians clinched two gold medals in the team events. Viktor Rudenko, Yahor Damaratski, Evgeniy Bolgov took the champion title in the men's 8 laps. Ekaterina Sloeva, Yauheniya Varabyova, and Hanna Kavalyova won in the women's 6 laps.
The speed skating event in Russia is featuring over 180 Belarusian and Russian athletes. The tournament in Kolomna will be over on 29 October. The second stage is scheduled to take place in St Petersburg in November, the third one – in Chelyabinsk in January 2023, the fourth – in Kirov in early February, and the final will take place in Kolomna at the end of the winter.
